History of this model:
The Buick Roadmaster flagship brand, underwent a major facelift in 1949, turning it into a car "compact" at the expense of weight, increased significantly.
Characteristic of aesthetic change was the adoption of the windscreen divided into two parts but curved to give greater visibility to the driver, this feature was touted in the brochure of the time. Appeared for the first time the "twenty ports" or ports hole on the front fenders: 4 for Roadmaster, 3 for all other Buick.
The "Twenty ports" were an idea of Ned Nickles (Buick designers) who decided to install exhaust pipes as if they were a 'fighter plane (we are in the war) and simulassero the pistons of the engine with the exhaust flames. The 8-cylinder engine in line became so apparent an element of strength and power.
The first project was the yellow bulbs intermittently then replaced by chrome holes.
Among the salient mechanical changes was supplied as standard transmission "Dynaflow" and the increase in engine power up to 168 hp (322 Nailhead V8 us / 320 Fireball I8 us).
The Buick was given the power windows as standard, with the same luxury aligned to the Cadillac "series 62" and Olds 98. The grille of the Roadmaster was further enhanced by a chrome side molding called "Sweepspear" (a mustache or V) would become a feature of all Buick. The Buick Roadmaster for 1949 was a real success in sales, despite the price just below a Cadillac.

DIECAST FACTS

Johnny Lightning is a medium quality diecast… this models by J.L. as ever are good for the weight 'cause undercarriage is also in metal.
The original release is in a bad color maybe too metallic paint. The interior was grey incorrect for the really interior option.
Sin is the trunk and the doors not openable, the engine is few detailed and the light glass are moulded without glass.
Good for tires and with wall.
My opinion is that the model could be made with more details and attention build.
I believe this should rating 6.5/10.

BUICK GS 455 1970

Glen Canyon again... this is the same place of the last one time to show another Frank icon: Buick GS 455 from 1970. Painted Emerald mist poly, this new work by Frank shine under the sun,the car was totally restored.
the beautiful contrast with the white vinyl roof and the interior also white make this car a little bit appearance simply clear, but we wouldn't forget that under the hood the power is respectable!
Another difference with the Gsx is the chromed lights frame
this car ,entry level for muscle by Buick (the other is the Gsx) have little difference between the Gsx: the hood is without tachometer (option ),no rear spoiler.
the interior view is cool,we see the shifter for the automatic gear,Turbo-hydramatic 400.the tires with white line on special sport wheels  are right choice. You agree?
under the hood the 455 .i with 350 hp ,a little option by Frank is the air filter, modify by Frank's taste...he said more more air more power...what else? another work by Frank for give uniqueness at this model as all the cars by Frank!

Stay tuned!   Buick GS 455 1970 - Diecast 1/24 by Welly

BUICK GSX STAGE 1 1970

The trip "on the road" by Frank this time leads us to the Glen Canyon "National Recreation Area" located between the northern Arizona and Utah.
the landscape is of immense beauty made of red rocks and charming views, a gorge created by 'massive dam that contains the Lake Powell created by the Colorado River and the San Juan River; Is in this suggestive place that Frank take the occasion for take shots at one of his new creations: Buick GSX 1970

The Buick is in a mint condition and  it's a very rare car (one of 678 built).
Painted in Saturn yellow (one of two choice colors available, the other was the apollo white).
The Buick is a perfect comparison between the forced nature with the dam,and the forced power given at this special "muscle"!
The car have all his special parts at their place. Rear spoiler, tachometer external on the hood (characteristic by Buick) special decals on the body, special trim  wheels and more.
This car expresses which was for buick the sport car concept in the 70's
the interior is totally black, elegant and sporty as all Buick were made.
under the hood the exuberant engine 455 ci the real power of this Buick: 360 hp with 4 gear on the floor, for burning the road at 129,5 mph.
unfortunately...all this power was also fragile...the engine bench was not reinforced so many Gsx was destroyed.this has been one of motivation for the low success of this "muscle".
In spite of everything this car is beautiful, and Frank is proud  to show us again one of american icon more famous.

PONTIAC LE MANS 1964

Frank at this time have to show us a tasty nibble...and very rare to find around in this shape: a Pontiac Lemans 1964.The reason for the rarity is that the all almost the LeMans survivor has been cloned in GTO .
Main characteristic of the LeMans is the different air scoop post on the sides instead that on the hood
Frank have given a little Street machine appearance...but has conserved the sobriety and the elegance painted the car with a  saddle bronze poly.
maybe the oversized tyres at the rear, are overstated...nevertheless  the result is a line fluent and clean.

The interior are bi-tone tan/brown,classic and elegant, as must be in a Lemans  (while in the GTO sister are more poor...)
Under the hood the 326 ci is all new and also in this case is a little bit modified by Frank for more performance...maybe it a challenge with the GTO sister?might have thought Frank when have put his hands on the engine!some doubt comes to mind ... seeing the exhaust...

CHEVROLET COUPE' 1939 SERIES 85

As Frank says each time, the surprises never get lonely! showing for us this great Chevrolet a Coupè model Series 85 ,model year 1939.we're always at the Plane of Fame Museum...
The car is the small version and very similar to the Master Deluxe, more popular ,and more low cost pricing in the '39.
the typical line for the end of 30's of the rear end view...a lady..:-)
Painted leaf green (paint code IM 2031) with Brown interiors

the coupè was few popular only for a thing : the single bench at the rear interior, very uncomfortable.
the engine under the gull-wingh hood, is the 216 c.i.  inline six  for with 85 hp
whiteline wheels give a special touch for this car,as the radio (see the antenna) improving the comfort for the buyers that in those year wished a very distinctive car

Special b/w pics for this special car.
